Filfla Studio's original productions are authored films — personal, specific and rooted in Maltese identity. Each project begins with a story worth telling and is built from the ground up through writing, design, animation and sound.

The work spans animated short films, graphic novels and illustrated books. It draws on Maltese folklore, history and contemporary experience — finding the particular stories that belong to this island and giving them a visual language that travels beyond it.

Filfla Studio's original films have screened at international festivals across Europe, Asia and the United States, winning awards and qualifying for Oscar-recognised festivals including Encounters and Fest — New Directors.

Filfla Studio has won the French Riviera Film Festival for best animation and the Kinematic International Short Film Festival Audience award.
