Soho'56 - a 2D animated short based on Matthew Vella's book 'Passport to Vice' - has received funding from the Arts Council of Malta Screen Support Strand 3 scheme for short films.

Soho'56 has been two years in development and will now go into production.

The animated short documents the brutal Soho scene of the 1950s and the role of the Maltese Syndicate in the violence and sex that shaped the London district for years to come.

Soho'56 is the fourth original production of Filfla Studio and will feature music and sound by Maltese sound artists Ian Shranz/ Bark Bark Disco and Owen Jay.

Soho'56 is directed by Fabrizio Ellul.
