Brief: WASTE2TASTE is a European research project turning marine waste into valuable resources. Working across Malta, Italy, Spain, Türkiye and Norway, researchers are extracting high-value compounds — collagen, fish oils, chitosans and bacteriophages — from fish processing by-products, invasive alien species and jellyfish blooms. Filfla Studio produced a two-minute 2D animation bringing this research to life — making complex science accessible to wider audiences.
